I attended A&E in Lincoln over the weekend and was seen by Dr Rees. I have never before felt strong enough to give a review but this dr was amazing. I know how busy A&E is and I was so impressed by this Doctor. He listened to everything and was so thorough in his questions and reassuring in his answers. It makes such a refreshing change to not feel rushed and he actually took the trouble to get back to me the next day with some test results to put my mind at rest. An absolute credit to Lincoln hospital and if only more doctors could be this great !!!

My 74 year wife was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2007 and in the last year alone has been 999'd into the Lincoln County Hospital with sepsis on four occasions. On the last occasion there were no beds available so she was treated with infusions of antibiotics in a side room off A&E. It was her,and my,good fortune that the doctor who cared for he was Kishan Rees. We had never met him before but will never forget him.He assessed my wife and immediately organised the infusion of strong antibiotics, something he took care of personally, the whole time reassuring both of us that he would get things under control. He was professional, skilled, caring and compassionate. His 'bedside manner' was exemplary. He chatted, told us about his work and time at the County, but never once ceasing to care for my wife.Over the last 11+ years we have met many doctors during the care of my wife, and we both agree that we have never met a better medical practitioner than Kishan. His whole 'package' of medical excellence combined with and matched by an outstanding personality, must put him in the top rank of doctors anywhere and we are sure that his true potential is yet to be realised.

I had the privilege of receiving advice and mentoring from Dr Rees as I submitted my application to Medicine. Kishan always finds time to help despite being incredibly busy. He listens well and responds with constructive feedback. His guidance has been incredibly useful during my application and throughout my studies. He continues to mentor me effectively and gives sound advice when ever I ask. His techniques and approach to learning are fantastic and unique. I have learned so much during my time with Dr Rees and am sure this will continue as I embark on my journey into Medicine. A trustworthy, caring and supportive doctor.

While I was on holiday in the UK, Dr. Rees was brought in on consultation during my recent emergency room visit to Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and I was extremely happy for his input. After a sudden, severe headache and residual pain, I reluctantly had gone to the hospital to make sure that there was nothing seriously wrong with my brain; I was seen by the Emergency Room team, bloodwork done, given a neurological exam (normal), and then a CT scan (results normal), and was about to be discharged. Upon consulting with Dr. Rees, however, he pointed out that much of the research indicates that an additional test (lumbar puncture) may be needed to rule out a brain bleed, and even though I wanted very much to be home, what he said made a lot of sense to me. Dr. Rees really listened to what I had to say about what was going on with my condition, and even was willing to let me call my daughter in the States (she is a doctor of pharmacy as well) to consult with her about my treatment, which I very much appreciated given that I was alone. He seemed genuinely concerned about ascertaining that there was no undetected serious condition that would cause further future complications, and so I went with his recommendation to remain for additional evaluation by the team in the hospital. He was not in a hurry to just "push me through" the system, and it felt like he gave me the same care that he would have given his mother! He connected me on social media and checked in on how I was doing through the rest of my time in the hospital, which was above and beyond what I have experienced previously with other medical professionals, while keeping the contact totally appropriate. His genuine concern, knowledge of his field, thoroughness, and personable approach make him one of the most competent doctors I have encountered in my lifetime. Gratefully, I am now home and pain-free. My return trip was far less worrisome than it would have been otherwise, having ruled out (with a higher probability) that I had a serious medical condition, largely thanks to Dr. Rees.
